Monday, August 20 9:54 p.m. Deputy Fangman made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Old 30. Driver Joseph E. Williams, 54, of Ogden was arrested for OWI 1st. Tuesday, August 21 10:37 a.m. Deputy Godzicki reported to the Boone County Court House to pick up a prisoner from the courts on a 3 day sentencing order. Taken into custody was Marcia L. Shaffer, 49, of Granger. 2:03 p.m. Transport Officer transported a prisoner from the Jail to the Curt Forbs residential Center in Ames. 10:06 p.m. Dallas County Deputy requested assistance as was in foot pursuit of two males caught in the act of a theft at a salvage yard, near Perry. Dallas County Deputy reported that he had been shot at and suspects fled on 4 wheelers. Investigation being handled by Dallas County, suspects did get away. Wednesday, August 22 9:03 a.m. Sheriff Fehr executed a writ of ejectment at 803 Marion St. Boone. Landlord and tenant came to an agreement to extend contract by 1 month. Landlord was told that once we leave a new agreement would require a new court action if needed a month from now. 9:40 a.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a motorist complaint of a large sheet of glass that had fallen out onto the Highway near the Erickson curves on 30. DOT responded along with Boone Fire to clean up the glass. 11:46 a.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a house alarm sounding in the 2200 block of 227th Place, Ames. It was a false alarm. 5:36 p.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of garbage dumped in the 1700 block of H Ave, Boone. Investigation continuing. 6:19 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst located an intoxicated individual at 340th and Highway 17. Arrested was William D. Grail, 52, of Des Moines for public intoxication. Grail had been encountered by an Officer earlier in Madrid and told to leave as he was at a residence in Madrid and wanted around because he was intoxicated. 10:39 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to the Hamilton County line to pick-up a prisoner arrested in Hamilton County on a Boone County warrant. Arrested was a Chance R. Pint, 26, of Webster City, warrant for driving while barred, bond $2,000. Thursday, August 23 5:49 p.m. Deputy Ellison responded to an alarm sounding at the United Comm. School, it was a false alarm. 6:02 a.m. Deputy Ellison investigated a car deer accident east bound Highway 30 just west of 7 Oaks. Majak D. Majak, 30, of Ames struck a deer in the roadway. No injures were reported, his vehicle a 1997 Toyota was a total loss. 8:20 a.m. Deputy Pontius responded to a report of a fire on Quill south of 30. Turned out to be a controlled burn. Individuals were warned about the burn ban and fire put out. Boone Fire responded. 1:33 p.m. Deputy Pontius investigated a two vehicle accident on Highway 30 and L Ave. Arlee Brunsvold, 71, of Boone was south bound on L Ave and stopped then pulled out in front of a east bound vehicle operated by Stefanie E. Boeckman, 21, of Fort Dodge. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $5,000 to Boeckman's 2002 Toyota, and $3,000 to Brunsvold's 1999 Buick. 5:13 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and R Ave. Driver Steven R. Carroll, 37, of North Augusta, S.C. was charged with driving while license suspended. 11:26 p.m. 911 Dispatch received a call from a person advising that she was enroute from the Carroll Co. Hospital with a friend that had just been released. Now this person is making remarks of suicide and trying to jump from the vehicle on Highway 30. Vehicle was located and Boone P.D. along with Deputy were able to get the woman to the Boone County hospital for a evaluation. Friday, August 24 2:40 a.m. Transport Officer responded to the Boone County Hospital to pick-up a mental patient to be taken to Mary Greeley in Ames. 6:18 a.m. Deputy Ruter responded to an alarm sounding at Land O Lakes in the 230 block of 259th St, false alarm. 3:01 p.m. Deputy Pontius responded to a ditch fire along Highway 169, between 170th and 180th. Ogden fire responded. 6:17 p.m. Dispatch took a call from an individual reporting a reckless driver on Highway 169. Complainant was met and charged with driving while license suspended. That person was Reese W. Millsap, 41, of Adel. Reckless vehicle was not located. 7:17 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a complaint of a Jeep that was out on the Des Moines River bed and became stuck on a sandbar. Cameron A. Kennedy, 27, of Madrid was cited for operating a motor vehicle onto a waterway, Des Moines river. 11:53 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst checked on a vehicle that was in the median at Highway 30 and Montana Rd, Boone. The vehicle had all the windows broken out and dents all over the vehicle. Owner was from Carroll, IA and was made contact with he said that it was okay an hour ago. Vehicle was towed. Owner was not concerned that it had been damaged. Saturday, August 25 9:06 a.m. Deputy Pontius investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 west of the Des River bridge. Driver Christopher W. Deal, 27, of Ames was west bound when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $2,000 to a 1993 Ranger. 6:27 p.m. Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver on Highway 30. Vehicle was stopped near United Comm Schools. Driver Kate M. Reynoldson, 30, of Boone was not intoxicated, but was driving while license suspended. Charged with that offense. 10:02 p.m. Deputy Ruter investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near the Highway 169 overpass. Driver Michael S. Larson, 22, of Paton was west bound when he struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $2,000 to a Pontiac. Sunday, August 26 12:53 a.m. Deputy Ruter investigated a two vehicle accident in the 600 block of D Ave. Michelle M. Frantz, 21, of Omaha, NE was south bound on Highway 169, when a north bound vehicle operated by an unknown swerved into the center of the roadway, causing Frantz to swerve and lose control going into the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $6,000 to a 2005 Ford Focus. Second vehicle did not stop. 11:58 p.m. Deputy Pontius responded to a medical assist in the 200 block of Hummel St., Beaver. Boone County ambulance responded. 3:33 p.m. Deputy Twigg assisted a motorist at Highway 17 and 30. Operator of the vehicle was cited for driving while license suspended. Operator was Joseph R. Disney, 21, of State Center, IA. |
