Ogden Police Report: Aug. 31 - Sept. 6, 2009

Monday, Aug. 31 3:25 p.m.: An Ogden resident reported someone used her identity to open a cellular phone account. Tuesday, Sept. 1 8:10 a.m.: Ogden Municipal Utilities reported that a garage had been broken into. 9:05 a.m.: Janice Earll of 244 SW 4th Street reported that someone had broken her glass picnic table. 5:29 p.m.: Officer was asked to look for two pickup trucks that appeared to be drag racing on 220th Street from Boone. The officer was unable to locate the vehicles. 9:40 p.m.: Officer assisted Boone County Deputy with a traffic stop. Wednesday, Sept. 2 10:15 a.m.: Officer received a report that a semi-tractor-trailer hit the detour sign at SE 4th and Oak Street causing it to fall into the traveled portion of the road. Officer put the sign back. 3:00 p.m.: Wendy Tolan reported that her Pomeranian dog had gotten loose. 10:05 p.m.: Officer assisted Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance at 308 SW 9th Street. Thursday, Sept. 3 1:15 p.m.: Officer responded to Ogden High School in regards to a fight that had happened earlier. Officer charged Calleen Anderson, 17, with simple assault. 3:49 p.m.: Officer assisted stranded motorist. Friday, Sept. 4 8:45 a.m.: Officer received a complaint of careless driving near Howe School. 5:30 p.m.: Officer assisted a Boone County Deputy locate a subject in Ogden. 8:26 p.m.: Officer notified an Ogden Business that it had some equipment with lights being left on. Saturday, Sept. 5 2:26 p.m.: Officer responded to 519 S 1st Street on a report of a person yelling and screaming inside the residence. Everything was okay. 4:10 p.m.: Officer investigated a complaint of someone riding a go-kart on the roadway in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street. 8:48 p.m.: Officer spoke to a subject in reference to a civil matter. Sunday, Sept. 6 12:33 a.m.: Officer did a civil stand-by at 245 W Walnut Street. 2:37 p.m.: Officer recovered a loose dog in the 600 block of NW 3rd Street. 11:05 a.m.: Officer investigated suspicious activity at the Ogden City Park. A cane was turned in at the Ogden Police Department. The cane was found between Ogden and Nob Hill on 216th. If you can describe the cane, you may claim at Ogden Police Department. These charges are merely an accusation and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. SCOOTERS: (motorized) Iowa law requires a vehicle to have a manufacturer's label attached to the vehicle, certifying that the vehicle meets all the federal safety standards if the vehicle is to be titled and registered for use on a street or roadway. If the scooter does not have the manufacturer's label, it cannot be operated on the roadway. If it does, then it will need to be registered through the state. |
