You can link directly to the sheriff's website by clicking here www.boonecountysheriffsoffice.com Monday, June 1 11:00 a.m.: Decision was made to cancel the monthly tornado siren alert and rescheduled for Wednesday, June 3 at 1 p.m. 10:06 p.m.: Deputy Hoffman responded two miles east of Ogden on 222nd Drive. Complaint of vehicle in the ditch. Turned out to be a single-vehicle accident. Driver Jason Gruber, 27, Waukee, was northbound on 222nd Drive negotiating a curve when he lost control and rolled his vehicle into the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $1,000 to a 1992 Buick Regal. Gruber was arrested for O.W.I.1st offense and driving while license barred. Detective Kendall made two arrests stemming from the investigation of two burglaries that took place in Boxholm at Chris's Corner on Dec. 20 and Dec. 30, 2008. Charged with burglary 3rd degree (2 counts), were Zachery Stevens, 18, of Boxholm and Brandon Munstermann, 17, of Paton. The investigation is continuing. Tuesday, June 2 7:01 a.m.: Deputy Ruter responded to the 1000 block of Vixon Place, Boone. There was a report of a male throwing rocks at a home and a broken window. Deputy observed a male walking on the roadway when responding to the vandalism call. The male turned out to be the suspect. Arrested for criminal mischief 4th degree and public intoxication was Joshua Brown, 22, of Anita. 11:51 a.m: Detective Godzicki observed a tanker truck driving off and on the roadway in the 1300 block of Highway 30, eastbound. Vehicle was stopped and driver was checked for possible O.W.I. DRE officer was called and investigation continuing. Vehicle was towed. Awaiting lab results. Wednesday, June 3 4:23 p.m.: Sgt. Hurley investigated a single-vehicle accident 3/10 of a mile north of Madrid on Rose Road. Daniel West, 19, of Madrid, was southbound on Rose Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and entered the west ditch, rolling his vehicle. West was transported by Boone County Ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Damages were estimated at over $1,000 to a 2000 Suzuki Esteem. West was charged with failure to maintain control. 5:02 p.m.: Deputy Ruter investigated a two-vehicle accident at Highway 169 and 335th Street south of Ogden. Gary Ackerman, 59, of Woodward, was northbound on Highway 169, with a John Deere farm tractor pulling a 1000 gallon water tank. He was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle operated by Brian L. Zeka, 38, of Fort Dodge. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $1,000 to Zeka's 1988 Pontiac, and $1,300 to Ackerman's tractor and water wagon. Zeka was charged with failure to maintain control. 9:45 p.m.: Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of anhydrous tank leaking at the West Central Co-op on Highway 17 near Jordan. Boone Fire responded. Key holder responded to shut valve. 11:14 p.m.: Sgt. Hurley assisted a state trooper with an O.W.I. arrest on Highway 17 near the Dekalb plant. Thursday, June 4 Detective Kendall arrested Lance L. Rockwell, 17, of Pilot Mound, for Burglary 3rd, two counts for the burglary of Chris' Corner in Boxholm, Dec. 20 and 30 2008, accomplice of Stevens, and Munstermann arrested on June 1st. 5:25 p.m.: Deputy Pontius investigated a single-vehicle accident one mile west of Ames at 220th and X Avenue. Jesse E. Berhow, 36, of Stratford, was westbound when he apparently blacked out and drove off the roadway into a pond. He was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, by a family member. Damages were estimated at $9,000 to a 2005 Chevy Cavalier. 6:57 p.m.: Deputy Pontius responded to a complaint of a theft at Keepers Storage in West Ames. Angela Strotman of Ames reported that someone had stolen a spare tire and cover off her camper that was parked at the Storage building. 9:52 p.m.: Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to West Ames to assist Ames Police with an investigation. Arrested on a Story County warrant for failure to appear, probation revocation, was Peggy Yost, 46, of Ames. Bond was set at $5,000. Yost was also cited and released to Ames P.D. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Friday, June 5 No reported activity. Saturday, June 6 11:21 p.m.: Deputy Hoffman investigated a car/deer accident in the 1600 block of Highway 210. Thomas J. Freen, 21, of Ames, was eastbound when he struck a deer in the roadway, causing $1,000 in damages to a 2004 Saturn. No injuries were reported. Sunday, June 7 12:21 a.m.: Deputy Naeve made a traffic stop at 270th Street just west of Quill Avenue. Driver, Ryan Peppels, 18, of Boone, was arrested for driving while license suspended X2. 9:04 a.m.: Deputy Ruter investigated a single-vehicle accident 3/4 of mile west of Luther at E57 and Quill Ave. Jay Langmade, 45, of Boone, was southbound on Quill talking on a cell phone, and went through the stop sign and into the ditch across E57. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $1,300 to a 2000 Ford. Langmade was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to stop at a stop sign. 8:15 p.m.: Deputy Hoffman arrested Larry Lampman, 32, of Boone, after he turned himself in to the Sheriff's Office on a Boone County warrant. Bond was set at $1,000 for probation revocation, original charge of possession of marijuana. 11:30 p.m.: Deputy Zeutenhorst, assisted by a Boone Police officer, responded to a domestic situation at 1049 Key Lane, Boone. Arrested for domestic assault was Renal L. Hunter, 57, of that address. |
