Curtis Lee Adams

ATLANTA - Funeral services for Curtis Lee Adams, 38, of Atlanta, were held Monday, Nov. 20, at Body of Christ Church in College Park.

Mr. Adams died of a heart attack on Nov. 14, 2006. He had been working in Augusta, Ga., for the National Security Agency, the U.S. Department of Defense, since January.
Before that, starting in 1994, he was an officer with the Fulton County police department. In 1993, he was a police officer in Albany, Ga.

He was graduated from Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Mich., in 1986. He immediately served four years in the U.S. Army. He directed the choir at Body of Christ Church, and he was a motivational speaker.

Mr. Adams and his wife, the former, LaShae Hutcherson, had been married since Dec. 16, 2005.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Courtney and Ivy Adams; one adopted son, Antione Adams; his parents, Cornelius and Corrine Adams of Detroit; his grandmother, Emily Adams of Greenwood; and two brothers, Cornelius Adams Jr. and Mario Adams, and two sisters, Marcella Adams and Emily Adams, all of Detroit.

Dr. Joseph M. Ripley Sr., the church's pastor, officiated at the services. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park.
