Love them or hate them, the folks at Pitchfork have more music content than anyone; from news to album, concert and song reviews, they've got it covered. Like any reviewer, you may disagree with their opinions, but you can't disagree with the content. Check out their newest feature, the top 200 songs of the 1960s.
NME (www.nme.com)
The Web site for the British magazine of the same name, NME, short for New Musical Express, is celebrating their 10th birthday this year. They may be the closest thing to the ESPN of the British music world, offering up daily news updates and hyping bands like there's no tomorrow. They're constantly searching for the next big British band, but they offer constant news and the chance to listen to new albums before they're released. A must-bookmark site for any fan of British music.
The blogs
If you haven't discovered blogs yet, what are you waiting for? Sure not all of it is legit info (especially when it comes to political propaganda from both sides of the spectrum), but for music there's no better source.
There's no better music blog on the Web than www.stereogum.com. While most of its material leans towards indie rockers like Sufjan Stevens, you'll get the latest news on what anyone from Elvis Costello to Kanye West are up to. From YouTube video clips to streaming new tracks, the site has its finger on the pulse of the music world.
In the same vein as Stereogum are two outstanding blogs, www.brooklynvegan.com - which is all over the latest tour announcements, schedules and concert reviews. For artist interviews and discovering new music, www.musicisnotdead.com is a great source.
