Drake, who has wrestled professionally for a few years in the "dysfunctional family entertainment" league known as Women's Extreme Wrestling, went down like a sack of potatoes. As she struggled to stand back up the blood streamed out of her nose and the beauty queen wrestler fell back to her knees.
It was a knockout.
Harding, the 1994 gold medal hopeful who conspired to beat her American rival Nancy Kerrigan by having a thug whack her on the knee with a metal bar, raised her thick arms in victory.
The crowd at the Lagoon nightclub, in clear support of Drake, got nasty.
"Pick on someone your own size," someone shouted to Harding, who visibly defied her listed weight of 125 pounds. "It's not Tonya Harding, it's Tonka Harding," said another jubilant fan.
Drake looked conditioned in the first round, but she had a tendency to lead with her chin and Harding, who has a nasty jab, took full advantage.
Except for a few glancing blows from Drake's hysterical swinging, Harding didn't appear to take a hit. Drake, on the other hand, was struck several times and appeared more dazed with each punch.
She was still
wobbly in the ring when the referee called for a doctor. The fight was the sixth of the night, all courtesy of local boxing promoter Damon Feldman.
Drake earned $1,000 for showing up, and Harding earned another notch on her boxing belt.
Harding's fee was not disclosed.
