    Forget about letdowns.
One week after blanking Ridgefield 30-0, the Wreckers pounded Westhill High 48-7 at the J. Walter Athletic Complex in Stamford on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings (1-3) seemed to be lying in wait for Staples as the proverbial trap game. But the Westporters took a 7-0 lead nine and a half minutes into the first quarter and never looked back.
The halftime stats are indicative of Staples dominance of the game's first 48 minutes. Not only did the Wreckers own a 41-0 lead as they headed off into the locker room at the intermission, but they had outgained Westhill by the mind boggling total of 253 to six.
Staples marched 53 yards following the opening kickoff for the game's first score. Senior quarterback Brandon Pacilio connected with Chris Coyne on an 8-yard scoring pass for the touchdown. It was the first of two TD passes in the game for Pacilio.
Standout kicker Santiago Cuartas tacked on the first of six extra points to hive his team a 7-0 lead.
Pacilio romped in from six yards out to cap a four play 33-yard drive to give the Wreckers a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Staples then broke the game open with 27 second quarter points. Brandon Rankowitz (16 yard reception), matt Kelly (5 yard run), Ryan Burke (8-yard run) and Keith Gelman (3 yard run). Jon Heil capped off the Wreckers scoring with a 1-yard run early in the third quarter.
