A woman identified as Deborah Thomas of Norwalk was traveling southbound on Saugatuck Avenue and was observed to be weaving in the extremes of her traffic lane, almost striking the curb and crossing over the double yellow centerline. When stopped, the officer detected an odor of alcohol coming from her breath. Thomas failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. She refused to take a breath test. She was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane. She was released on a $500 bond and given an Oct. 29 court date.

Police received a complaint about an underage drinking party from the mother of a juvenile who was at the party. From the complainant, the police learned that the party was taking place at 11 Stone Drive in Westport. Upon responding to this location, the officers found Peter Bekku, a resident at that address. A check of house revealed William Kelly of Fort Wainwright, Arkansas and Christopher Grayson, who was outside and another juvenile. Officers observed several empty beer cans, several empty liquor bottles and marijuana smoking apparatus in plain view, and also recovered a small amount of marijuana. Kelly, Grayson and Bekku were taken into custody. The juvenile was transported home. All three were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor in a private location, possession of controlled substance: less than four ounces of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a child. They were all released on $1,000 bond and given Oct. 28 court dates.

Filiberto Hernandez of Bridgeport was traveling westbound on Post Road East in the vicinity of Long Lots Road where he was observed swerving between both westbound lanes. When stopped, the officer detected an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle and on the operator's breath. Hernandez failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Hernandez did submit to breath tests which resulted in blood levels of 0.225 and 0.217. He was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and driving without a state license. He was released on a $1,000 bond and given an Oct. 29 court date.
