On Tuesday around 6 p.m., an officer was sent to 8 Dexter Road. The complainant, who was Henne, said she was backing out of her driveway at 18 Bulkley Avenue North when a speeding car almost hit her car.
She said the driver made a sudden stop and honked at her and so, she, Henne, got out of her car to confront the allegedly speeding driver and when the other woman allegedly got close, Henne reported that she said, "Go on, hit me."
Henne said she would call police and the other driver said "Go ahead." Henne followed the van to 8 Dexter Road in order to get the license plate. According to Henne, the other driver allegedly said, "Something wrong lady?" when she got out of the car. Later, the other woman was to tell police that Henne continued to follow her and that Henne pulled her car into the middle of the road. The van driver took her two children who had been in the car with her, and who were frightened and crying, to a neighbor's house and went there herself. She alleged that Henne continued to follow her and again said, "Go ahead, hit me." The van operator told Henne to call police and leave her alone. When police came, officers told Henne that she should not follow other people to intimidate them and that the other driver had the right of way and that there was no way to prove that the other driver was speeding. Henne was released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 21.
