Police say Bacon e-mailed the pornographic image as an attachment to the officer while in an America Online chat room March 7. According to Lieutenant Skip Dunham, the image featured the young girl having sexual relations with an adult male.
A subpoena was served to AOL and the company supplied Bacon's information to the Irving Police on April 18.
A search warrant was executed by Hamden police on Bacon's home April 21 and his computer was seized as evidence.
According to Dunham, the State Police are now conducting their own analysis on Bacon's computer and Dunham says they are expecting to arrest Bacon on further charges.
Dunham said the office of the state's attorney wanted to proceed with the arrest rather than wait for more evidence because Bacon serves as a volunteer in areas where he could be working with children.
Bacon is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
