Lady Jackets blank BC

The host Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets scored once in the first inning and held on for a 1-0 Monday victory over Bogue Chitto's Lady 'Cats in slowpitch softball action. Lacey Orr's RBI double, coupled with a fielding error, scored Haley Brazell who had walked.

Orr (0 K, 1 BB) pitched the win as Enterprise raised its record to 6-3 on the season. Kerri McGehee (0 K, 2 BB) absorbed the setback, allowing 3 hits.

The Lady 'Cats (5-4) were limited to 5 hits.

"We just didn't hit the ball, said Bogue Chitto coach Scott Leggett. His team also committed 2 errors.

Ashley Greer and Chynna Coghlan singled for Enterprise. The Lady Jackets lost third baseman Kolbi Lewis to injury when a Bogue Chitto runner cleated her leg while sliding into the bag.

"This was a hard-fought game. We've got to regroup for Thursday," said Enterprise coach Steve Sasser. That's when his Jackets host Bassfield for their first Division 7-2A game of the season.

"My players must step up and fill in for Kolbi," said Sasser.

Enterprise got singles from Ashley Greer and Chynna Coghlan.

Bogue Chitto hosts Wesson Thursday, starting at 5 p.m. with a junior varsity game.

The Lady 'Cats got 2 singles from Rhegan Welch. Mattie Avants, Josie Porter and Adrienne Wallace singled. Junior Varsity Results

Bogue Chitto shut out Enterprise 11-0 in the preliminary JV game. The 'Cats got a home run and a single from Marshonikque Blackwell. Mattie Avants had 3 singles. Rhegan Welch and Shelby Crossby singled twice.

Lauren Wallace, Hailey Estess, Heather Miller, Kerri McGehee and Alexis Givens singled for BC.

Enterprise got a single from Kelsey Hux.
