    Broncos beat Salem, fall to Colman

    The Madison Broncos went 1-1 last weekend against the Colman A's and Salem Cubs. On Friday, Madison beat Salem (ranked 5th in S.D. amateur baseball) 5-0. On Sunday, the A's got the best of Madison 20-11 in overtime.

    Salem game

    The visiting Broncos had a steady offensive attack led by Brian Miller, who had a single and a double. Greg Biagi hit two singles and Jordan Brown added a double.

    Mitch McNary pitched the complete game and had 12 strikeouts.

    Colman game

    The A's managed to score nine runs in the top of the 11th inning and came away with the Corn Belt victory. There were 14 errors between the two teams (Madison had nine).

    Dan Rhodes started for Madison. Ray Wagner suffered the loss for Colman.

    At the plate, Brian Miller, Biagi and Jesse Brown each had a double. Rhodes, Justin Jaspers, Monte Wire, Trent Miller and Wagner all had singles.

    Chris Meyer led the A's attack with a grand slam, a double and a single.

    Madison now sits at 10-8 overall and 8-6 in the Corn Belt League.
