Dan Woldt and Frank Griffen, both of Madison, were among the three who were injured in Monday's fire at A.H. Meyer and Sons in Winfred.
Lake County Sheriff's Deputy Tim Walburg said Woldt had suffered second- and third-degree burns on his face, chest and arms. He is currently in the burn unit at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Walburg said that Woldt is doing well and doctors have discussed a tracheotomy to open his airway.
Griffen was treated and released at the Madison Community Hospital. He who had been tossed up against the wall when the explosion took place. Also inside the building at the time of the blast was Danny Brown of Louisiana.
All three have some hearing loss, Walburg said, but Brown specifically has some issues with hearing in his left ear.
As for the investigation into the cause of the fire, Walburg said, the safety of the structure is the biggest concern for officials who first want to remove parts of the ceiling that had fallen into the building. The next focus will be on either stabilizing or bringing down the side walls.
