FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A new Web site is designed to help grain farmers manage fusarium head blight, better known as scab disease.
"Scab Smart" is coordinated by North Dakota State University plant pathologist Marcia McMullen.
She says the site deals with various strategies for managing scab disease, which has caused widespread losses in past years.
Covered grain classes include hard red spring wheat, durum wheat, spring barley, hard red winter wheat, soft red winter wheat, soft white wheat and hard white wheat.
The Web site can be accessed at www.scabsmart.org.
