BARBARA J. PUCKETT

WICHITA -- Barbara J. Puckett, 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Overland Park Medical Center, Overland Park.

Mrs. Puckett was born Aug. 23, 1945 at Clay Center, the daughter of Homer and Julia (White) Rundle.

She grew up in Clay County and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1963. She attended and graduated from the University of Kansas with a music degree. She taught piano professionally for over 30 years as well as served on the staff of the University of Kansas music department as professional piano accompanist. She was also an accompanist for the New Theatre Restaurant and the Kansas City Lyric Opera Company in Kansas City.

Survivors include her husband, George Puckett of Wichita; one daughter, Michelle Christ and husband Mike of Overland Park; one son, Sean Puckett and wife Andra of Wichita; one brother, Harlan Rundle and wife Martha of Clay Center; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 at Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, with the Rev. Gary M. Christ officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the University of Kansas College of Theater in care of the funeral home, 918 7th St., Clay Center, KS, 67432.
