The following are a sampling of the calls received at the Barron County Dispatch Center. Some are emergency calls, while some are general complaints. Only dial 911 in emergency cases. -Monday, Sept. 14- 8:10 p.m., Chetek gas station has a small child at the store who cannot find parent. 8:21 p.m., officer has the child and is en route to the post office. 8:23 p.m., received a 911 call from a subject looking for a small child that got out of a locked car by the post office. Caller advised to stay there and wait. 8:24 p.m., officer out with subjects. 8:24 p.m., clear. -Tuesday, Sept. 15- 5:05 a.m., Chetek woman needs ambulance for elderly husband who is not feeling right. Paged out. 9:23 a.m., Cameron caller reports neighbor's children have been screaming and crying for the past hour. Mother keeps yelling at them. 9:41 a.m., everything is fine. Kids are not getting their way. 7:14 p.m., Chetek ambulance requested for diabetic man who has fallen. Wife cannot get him up. Paged out. -Wednesday, Sept. 16- 12:59 p.m., mixed-breed dog without collars showed up at New Auburn man's milk house covered in blood. It must have been attacked by something and needs a vet. 1 p.m., man advised he can do with it what he wants. Police don't pick up and bring to the vet and pay for the bill. No way of knowing who animal belongs to. He can bring it to the humane society and see if they want it. 4:46 p.m., Cameron woman reports her daughter missing. She says daughter left school with her boyfriend and his mother. They are now at his house. Woman is advised to go get daughter. 5:19 p.m., officer picked up girl, en route to police department. 5:40 p.m., called on-call social worker. 5:54 p.m., Cameron man says a male wearing jeans and a baseball cap, about 25 years old with black hair, came to the door asking for money for a police officer who was hurt in a car accident. When caller asked for more information, subject left. -Thursday, Sept. 17- 2:44 p.m., Dallas couple received call that grandson in the military was in jail in Canada and needed $1,000 to get out. Couple called grandson, who is in military in Alaska, and all was fine. They did not send money. Logged for information. 4:49 p.m., injured goose on Cameron man's dock. 6:03 p.m., Chetek officers advised of a black car on CTH SS that was all over the roadway and when they passed a bicyclist, they opened the door to "door him." 6:14 p.m., spoke to father of driver. He will speak with son. 8:18 p.m., received a hang-up call from Chetek residence. Did a call-back. 8:27 p.m., man called back and advised that dispatchers were all cold-blooded killers and they have had their chances. 8:33 p.m., officer goes over to visit man. He is fine. 8:34 p.m., man calls back and says he's upset that dispatcher sent officer to threaten his life. 8:38 p.m., man calls back to say dispatchers are all being charged with murder, then hangs up. -Friday, Sept. 18- 2:01 a.m., man arrested for drunk driving in Cameron. 8:40 a.m., New Auburn subject requested ambulance for 30-year-old female who gave birth three hours ago. Baby is fine, but midwife can't stop the bleeding. Chetek ambulance paged. 8:48 a.m., ambulance requests paramedic intercept. 9:44 a.m., out at Lakeview Medical Center-Rice Lake. -Saturday, Sept. 19- 12:39 a.m., Chetek officer out at hotel with party. Six citations issued. 1:58 a.m., kids' parents were called and picked up kids. Unit clear. 12:45 a.m., officer in Cameron looking for subjects that took off running on foot. 1:10 a.m., has one juvenile in custody and will return him home. 1:15 a.m., juvenile advised they were throwing corn at cars and he has been returned to his mother. 4:40 a.m., man with difficulty breathing needs Chetek ambulance. They will be en route. 7:32 a.m., Chetek ambulance requested for oxygen-dependent subject with low blood sugar. Paged out. 8:34 p.m., man can get within five feet of adult bald eagle on his land on Bass Lake Road in Chetek Township. -Sunday, Sept. 20- 8:34 a.m., Yorkie followed Cameron man home from his morning run. He took it back to area where it came from and no one knew it. He will keep it for a few hours in case someone calls looking for it. 2:21 p.m., officer bringing female Yorkie to humane society. 7:13 p.m., Cameron woman has peacock in her yard and no idea where it came from. 7:33 p.m., peacock has moved on, no locate. 9:35 p.m., received 911 call from Chetek residence. Could hear subjects talking a little loud with each other. 9:48 p.m., requesting second squad10:42 p.m., officer knocked really loud on the door. He could hear music. There was a slight space in the window blind; he could see child trying to get a male subject on the couch to wake up. Child was pounding on him, but male did not respond. Officer could see another subject sitting at the kitchen table, appeared to be staring at the floor, also not responding. Once officer was inside, males woke up and were beginning to get violent. Requested second squad at that time. Woke up female at that time. Children will be with her for the night, but this case will be handed over to social services and probation. Believe it was a 2-year-old child who was playing with the phone at the time of the call. 9:41 p.m., two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 53 south of Chetek. There is injury. Paged Chetek ambulance, first responders, fire department. Paged second ambulance. 10:10 p.m., wrecker en route. 10:19 p.m., two ambulances en route to Lakeview Medical Center-Rice Lake. 11:09 p.m., officer clear of scene and en route to LMC. 10:04 p.m., Chetek man complains that EMS/fire trucks were going through town too fast without lights.
