The following are a sampling of the calls received at the Barron County Dispatch Center. Some are emergency calls, while some are general complaints. Only dial 911 in emergency cases.

-Monday, July 20-

1:17 p.m., two bald men stole Cameron man's wallet from car and left on foot.

7:11 p.m., man rented a room at a Chetek hotel, spent about 45 minutes on the Internet, asked the desk clerk whether she knew what a Smith and Wesson was and then propositioned her for sex. He then called the front desk and stated he was with motel's headquarters and they passed their test. 7:23 p.m., units out interviewing subject. 7:35 p.m., subject warned about his language to clerk and units clear.

9:32 p.m., Chetek motel tester from previous call is now claiming the motel's staff is calling him a terrorist and says he is going to the police to make a report. Officer advised the subject was intoxicated earlier and will probably be arrested for OWI if he shows up.

-Wednesday, July 22-

2:03 p.m., Dallas man reports someone drove a golf cart on the road and he does not think this is legal. He thinks driver came from the Dallas golf course. 2:37 p.m., officer took the kids home and advised them to keep cart off the road.

2:44 p.m., New Auburn woman requests ambulance for herself. She fell in the barn and broke her arm. Paged out.

4 p.m., Chetek woman experiencing shortness of breath and tightness in her chest requests ambulance. Paged out.

-Thursday, July 23-

2:24 a.m., Chetek man reports subject is outside walking around with a flashlight.

11:55 a.m., officer out with car vs. ice machine accident at Chetek gas station.

6:06 p.m., Dallas woman's teen daughter was supposed to be living with her father in Illinois, but woman learned daughter was actually living with a 33-year-old man. Mother retrieved daughter. Now, man is staying at Chetek motel and mother believes daughter is with him.

-Friday, July 24-

7:03 p.m., Chetek man reports someone hit and killed three Canada geese that are now lying in the middle of the road.

7:58 p.m., drifting canoe docked near Chetek resort, owners unknown.

9:39 p.m., Chetek woman's neighbors have lights shining on her house.

10:29 p.m., Chetek officer out with two 30-year-old males destroying flowers in front of bank. Officer will speak to officials tomorrow to find out whether to press charges.

-Saturday, July 25-

12:59 p.m., injured eagle near Chetek.

10:51 p.m., herd of cows out, Chetek officer will be en route. 11:44 p.m., no locate on cattle.

-Sunday, July 26-

2:28 a.m., Chetek male reports a girl he just met stole his car. It belongs to his mother, and he thinks girl is headed to Chetek resort. 2:49 a.m., out with vehicle. 2:53 a.m., officer told girl showed up there and left in another vehicle and apparently there was some sort of problem between her and another female this evening. 3:22 a.m., man has been reunited with vehicle.

4:42 p.m., back in February, Prairie Lake Township man was trying to sell his truck, and test-driver never returned it. Caller has been trying to contact driver, as he lives in the area, but hasn't had any success.
