Nichole R. Heil, 21, Cameron, was charged with five counts of theft in a business setting (March 20, 21, April 2, 4, 6) July 21. Court records show after she was confronted by police and management, Heil allegedly confessed to taking returned customer receipts and placing them on a gift card for her personal use at the Rice Lake JC Penney store where she worked. Heil reportedly stole a total of $250.28 in five separate incidents. Each misdemeanor count carries a maximum penalty of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine. Whitehead, 32, Cameron, was ordered to be extradited to Lucas County, Ohio, July 22 on a felony warrant. Derrick A. Steffen, 22, Barron, was charged with five felony counts of using misappropriated ID information to obtain money (March 7, April 3, May 7, 9) July 21. Court records show Steffen's mother is accusing him of taking $610.91 from her checking account using the debit card and PIN number she gave him on a separate occasion. Steffen's alleged 10 transactions include cash withdrawals and payments to area gas stations and bars. Each of the five felony counts carries a maximum penalty of six years' imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. His initial appearance is Aug. 5. James F. Wagner, 54, Hayward, was charged with three counts of theft by false representation (two felony, one misdemeanor), and theft by movable property (March 12,13) July 21. Jonathan R. Hill, 20, Barron, was charged with possession of THC [2nd+ offense], three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug trafficking place (July 8) July 20. Raymundo G. Rodriguez, 30, Cameron, was charged with bail jumping, operating while under the influence and operating with a PAC of .10 or more (July 18) July 20. He was released on a $1,000 cash bond July 23 on condition that he does not possess drugs or alcohol, enter businesses that sell alcohol or drive. William E. Ziemer, 45, Eau Claire, and Frederick J. Ziemer, 49, Houlton, were charged with theft, possession of THC, two counts of possession of methamphetamine [one count exclusive to William Ziemer] and possession of drug paraphernalia (July 18-19). Signature bond is set at $2,500. Court records show the two were accused of stealing a motorcycle from a liquor store in Turtle Lake, and when police pulled them over, they allegedly found various illegal substances in the vehicle. Following arrest, William Ziemer was found to have meth on his person. Once released, both will be forbidden from entering Turtle Lake. A plea hearing is Sept. 9. Jody A.
