Since the program began in 1985, 228 seniors have received $181,500 in scholarships. A member from Barron Electric's board of directors or a staff member presented the scholarships at each school's awards ceremony. The following students, representing 13 schools in Barron Electric's service territory, were awarded $1,000 scholarships: Mallorie Moon, Chetek High School; Kassandra Church, Barron High School; Cassandra Rowe, Cameron High School; Tim Bryngelson, Clayton High School; Sarah Moss, Cumberland High School; Rebecca Gregory, Hayward High School; Lena Parrish, New Auburn High School; Leticia Goodremote, Prairie Farm High School; Daniel Hafstad, Rice Lake High School; Justin Hemshrot, Shell Lake High School; Meg Buchmann, Spooner High School; David Sollman, Turtle Lake High School; and Trent Ziegler, Weyerhaeuser High School. Moon is the daughter of Ed and Carol Moon.
