Mayor signs teen drinking proclamation

Chetek Mayor Dianne Knowlton, in partnership with the Barron County Safe and Stable Families Coalition, has declared April 2009 "Parents who host, lose the most: don't be a party to teenage drinking" month.

Parents who host drinking parties put youths at risk for health, safety and legal problems, the proclamation notes. Anyone found guilty of providing alcohol to youths faces up to a $500 fine.
