AMVETS kids' fishing contest had good participation

Ben Hanson, of Chetek, won a bike for catching the first fish at the AMVETS ice fishing tournament Saturday.

The AMVETS fishing contest, sponsored by Chetek AMVETS Post 25, was Saturday.

The contest on Pokegama Lake was open to children and Special Olympics athletes.

Although the final tally of participants has not yet been counted, AMVETS feel there were more participants this year than last year.

Winners will be announced in next week's paper.
