AMVETS fishing contest Saturday

Fishing, hot dogs and prizes will be the highlight of the second annual kids' and Special Olympics athletes' ice fishing contest Saturday.
The contest, sponsored by Chetek AMVETS Post 25, will be on Pokegama Lake near Gilligans from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open to children ages 5-15 and for Special Olympics athletes. Each grand-prize winner will win a bicycle. Numerous fishing and door prizes will also be available for other children and athletes.
The event is free to participants, with a nominal fee for adults. Registration is on the ice by Gilligans.
