Gerald L. Hell
Gerald L. Hell, 81, New Auburn, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Mt. Carmel, N.D., to Isadore and Olive (Meyer) Hell. He married Martha Illerbrunn Oct. 15, 1949, in Mt. Carmel. He worked as a carpenter and farmer. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, where he spent many hours repairing and building things. He enjoyed horses, cows, John Deere tractors, playing cards, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of New Auburn; a son, Doug (Sheree) Hell, of New Auburn; four daughters, Sharon Lotts, of New Auburn, Joanne (Mike) Shipman, of Bloomer, Sandy (Ron Hanson) Hell, of Bloomer, and Lisa Hell, of St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers: Harvey (Jan) Hell, of South Dakota, and Henry (Ora) Meyer, of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Chelda (Stan) Slama, of Milton, N.D., and Doris Puelston, of Burnsville, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Douglas; two brothers, Alan and Dick Hell; a sister, Audrey Stoeser; and a son-in-law, David Lotts.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in New Auburn with Father James Arthur officiating. Interment was in the North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer.
