She was born May 10, 1942, in Rice Lake and was raised and attended school in the Haugen/Rice Lake area. Joan graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1960. On Jan. 28, 1961, Joan married Vincent "Bucky" Eraquam, and the couple lived in the Ridgeland/Dallas area. Joan worked at the nursing home in Dallas for many years and later worked as a receptionist at Lake Area Disposal in Rice Lake. She enjoyed reading, attending auctions, spending time at the cabin and also spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Jason (Cherry) Eraquam, of Chetek, and Jeremy Eraquam, of Shell Lake; one daughter, Kelly (Jerry) Curtis, of Shell Lake; her mother, Dorothy Kodesh, of Haugen; 13 grandchildren, Stephanie Lindemann, Mathew, Andrew, Jonathan and Mackenzie Curtis, Mikayla, Jayden, Logan and Aiden Eraquam, Jessica Shearer, Lacey, Joshua and Vincent Eraquam; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Sebastian and Eden; one brother, Anthony (Nita) Kodesh, of Rice Lake; four sisters, Kathy (Larry) Greener and Pat Saffert, of Rice Lake, Debbie (Robert) VanBeek, of Sarona, and Barb (Terry) Nelson, of Chippewa Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her father; husband, Vincent "Bucky" Eraquam, on Oct. 5, 1980; and a son, Vincent L. Eraquam, on March 13, 1992. A memorial service was held Saturday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas, with the Rev. Bob Friese officiating. Arrangements were handled by the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron and Dallas.
