Shirley A. (Gubbin) Dahlin

Shirley A. Dahlin, 69, Gladstone, Mich., passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, at Christine Park Health Care Center, Escanaba, Mich., of cancer.

She was born May 25, 1939, at Barron, Wis., to Carl and Palma (Nelson) Gubbin. Shirley graduated from Barron High School in 1957.

She married Don Dahlin in 1977 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Escanaba. Shirley was employed as a secretary for Auto Owners Insurance Co. for many years.

After retiring, she became a very accomplished quilter. She was also an avid hockey fan.

Surviving in addition to her husband are sons, Greg Rolstad of Kentucky and Tom (April) Dahlin of Gladstone; daughters, Debbie (Fred) Rice of Escanaba and Denise (Joe) Head of Louisville, Ky.; a stepson, Scott (Cindy) Dahlin of Warren, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Jana (John) Schaefer of Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven grandchildren; a sister, Sharon (Paul) Bader of Clayton; as well as nieces and nephews.

Shirley's parents preceded her in death.

Services were held Friday, May 29, from Anderson Funeral Home, Gladstone, with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt of First Lutheran Church officiating.
