Gayle Dague, 68, Turtle Lake, Wis., died Friday, May 26, 2006, at Barron Riverside Manor. He was born Sept. 22, 1937, at Cumberland to Gilbert and Leona (Fishbach) Dague. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church, Pipe Lake. Gayle was married to Shirley Ann Gurtner on Oct. 4, 1957. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1989. He was married at Christ Lutheran Church on Aug. 8, 1992, to Sandy Strenke. Gayle was a schoolteacher and principal at Dallas Elementary School for many years. He was also a village councilman for Dallas. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Gayle was active as a little league coach, Babe Ruth coach and Boy Scout Leader. Surviving are his wife, Sandy of Turtle Lake; sons, Scott of Nora Springs, Iowa, and Randy (Kimberly) of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Debra (Daniel) Fischer of Woodbury, Minn; stepsons, Matthew (Tammy) Strenke of Almena and Marc (Lisa) Strenke of Turtle Lake; a stepdaughter, Melissa (Jay) Wohlk of Almena; four grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; brothers, Lowell (Karen) and Rodney (Deanna), both of Cumberland; his stepmother, Mildred Dague of Cumberland; a stepbrother, Monte (Sue) Hansen of River Falls; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, Gayle was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beverly. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 29, from Christ Lutheran Church, Pipe Lake, Rev. Steve Miller officiating, with burial at Dallas Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Dague, Scott Dague, Dan Fischer, Marc Strenke, Matt Strenke and Jay Wohlk. Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland, handled arrangements.
