I would have graduated with the class of 1947 only we moved from Ogden after the sixth grade. I graduated from Boone High School in '47. I wish someone would see this and send me a picture of your 60th class reunion. It was a sad day when my parents moved from Ogden.I still have contact with Ogden because my grand-children have gone there and two are still in school there. I enjoy getting the paper on line.

"Merry Christmas" from the beautiful Black Hills! I have been reading the Ogden Reporter off and on for more years than I care to mention. It's a great paper! It would be wonderful if other OHS grads. sent a note to the paper, just to let them know we read the paper on line and how much we appreciate this service. For some of us, it's a little reminder of "home". Oh, and if you get a chance, give a special "thanks" to the volunteers of the Ogden Fire Department. It gets mighty cold outside! Take care and best wishes for 2009!

My parents Donnie Olson and Donnabelle Smith grew up in Ogden in the 1930's, 40's and 50's, married and moved to Cedar Rapids.
I visited my grandparents Don and Mamie (Sparks) Olson and Evelyn (Kruse) Smith of Ogden often growing up, especially summers, in the 1960's and 70's, then visiting only occasionally after leaving Iowa. Everyone I knew there is gone or forgotten (exept maybe David Welder), but I've passed through and attended one Kruse reunion in 2004 and plan to attend the big one in 2009 or 2010.
I remember the News Stand (gone), the Maid-Rite, Walnut Street businesses and people and the park across form my grandparents home.
Peace Ogden!

Good Morning Ogden,Iowa!
It's a great day here in Mpls-St. Paul. I grew up with the rest of the Stumbo clan in the mid-fifties in Ogden. My family left Ogden March '56. We lived in many differant places in my youth but I STILL call Ogden home.
I still recall my first chocolate soft serve at the corner ice cream store $.25, so big I had to hold it with two hands. Then there were peanuts in my Coke at the news stand, drank to the sounds of Jerry Lee and Bill Haley in the background.
Getting my butt chewed from angry customers cause the sun had long-since set and I was only half finished with my paper route. Got side tracked at some kind widow's house watching the black and white... Bugs Bunny,Yosemite Sam and The Lone Ranger don't you know!
Then there were my classmates and friends S Nelson K Clausen C Wolfe and many more good kids.
Oh yes, at that time the prusuit of excellence in academics was not my strong suit. I had the distinct honor of be listed in Mr Lawson's dishonor roll posted right up there on the blackboard. Has he any IDEA what that did to my self esteem! Oh well, I found starvation to be a great motivater and went on to enjoy a relatively productive life as a home-builder.
I still get back to Ogden now and then.
Many years ago when I was in the USAF I met this lovely person who was a friend of my friend Jackie Craven. Her name was Carrol Lesson. Last I heard she was still as lovely as ever. Is she still around?

After living in Ogden 10 years I have decided that the two best things Ogden has going for it is the Ogden Reporter and Clark's Food Mart. For a town its size we are very fortunate to have such a quality newspaper and grocery store that is open seven days a week.

I always remember the good times I had in Ogden, and still get a kick out of reading about old friends. Great website Gary! bsmittle@tstar.net

I was surfing the internet and decided to see if Ogden, Iowa had a website. Then I saw the Ogden Reporter and WOW, I'm impressed. I am a 1962 graduate of Grand Community School in Boxholm. I lived by Pilot Mound. I will check back from time to time and see how things are in that area. Keep up the good work.

Gary, I'm sorry to hear of your fall during the ice storm...last night going from shop to house I took a spill and the elbow and shoulder took the brunt of the fall. A trip to the emergency room revealed no broken bones but possible rotator cuff damage...geez! You take care and I can really feel your pain. Sincerely, Steve Satre

I went thru the 6th grade in Ogden. The class of 1947. They recently had a 60th year reunion. I was invited but I'm going to my graduating class of '47 from Boone. I always had fond feelings of Ogden. Did you take any pictures of your reunion.
