Valley Special People
Welcome! It takes a Valley to raise a “Special Child”. Everyone has heard the proverb “It takes a Village to raise a child”. Well, raising a “Special Needs Child” requires an enormous amount of medical, therapeutic, personal, emotional, and community support. My son’s specialists were involved with his development as early as four months. Maintaining my son’s appointment schedule was almost like keeping track of a rock star’s tour schedule. Families of “Special Needs” children simply can not do it without the support of family, friends, doctors, child care providers, specialists (OT, PT, ST, MT), and teachers. I am happy to refer to the team of support as the “Valley”.
Areas that we will periodically address are topics like “Local Support” , “Education/Locating the right Respite and Habilitation Agency”, “Health/Wellness”, “Finances”, “Recession Proof Deals”, “Calendar of Events”, “Resources”, and “ESSS”.
