Our worship life is firmly centered in the prayerful celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The community gathers to plunge itself deeply into the life of God, by offering Thanksgiving (Gk: Eucharistia) for the Faithfulness of God, Who is Life, Love, Freedom, Peace, and Compassion. We do not understand God as a “fixer”. We understand God as Companion, intimately with us at every moment, showing us Reality, freeing us from delusion and illusion. God’s unconditional Love is our standard for both self-evaluation and for our honoring of all persons. We strive for complete acceptance of persons, and we particularly welcome those who have been or felt excluded by the Church. We respect the faith paths of all. The preaching here focuses on examining the Scriptural texts for the spiritual principles that underlie and define how to be fully human in our lives today. Our standard for “fully human” is Jesus. The Vicar believes that God speaks in all spiritual traditions and that all authentic religions express wisdom and truth. Of course we hope that you will find healing and strength. But more, we hope that the life at St. Peter’s will provide hope, vision, self-worth, compassion, and a sense of how your gifts can help build God’s Kingdom.
