    Wolves, Vikings to host Substate games

    REGIONAL -- IKM-Manning and A-H-S-T have both earned Substate games on home turf Wednesday night (Oct. 28) as the Iowa high school football postseason gets underway in full force.

    The Wolves (8-1) will host West Marshall (6-3) in a Class 2-A Substate clash at 7:00 p.m. IKM-Manning is the No. 2 seed (runner-up) from District 8, while West Marshall is the No. 3 seed from District 7. The winner of Wednesday's game will face either Bondurant-Farrar (7-2) or Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto (5-4) in the first round of the 2-A playoffs next Monday night at a site to be determined.

    In Class A, the No. 2-ranked A-H-S-T Vikings (9-0) will host Southeast Warren, Liberty Center (4-5) in a 7 p.m. Substate game Wednesday night. A-H-S-T is the District 8 champion and Southeast Warren placed fourth in District 7. The winner will face either Van Meter (8-1) or Bedford (6-3) in the first round of the Class A playoffs next Monday night. If the Vikings beat Southeast Warren, they are guaranteed a first-round home game in the playoffs based on their No. 1 seed.
