Jayme Anderson, daughter of Phil and Laurie Anderson of Belmond, was named Homecoming Queen at Waldorf College. Belmond firemen were called by the automatic alarm to the Community Apartments Thursday night when a potholder was left on a hot burner. The Goodwill Trailer will be parked at the Belmond United Methodist Church until November 2. Trick or Treat night in Belmond will be Saturday, October 31 from 5-7 p.m. Wright County Republicans will meet November 2 at 7 p.m. at the Clarion Pizza Ranch. The Wright County Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners will meet November 4 at 4:30 p.m. in Clarion. Alex Dorr, grandson of O'Larry and Doris Dorr and Gary and Meredith Ersland, is playing basketball this season at Iowa State. The 6'7" freshman led his Norwalk High School team to the state championship last winter. He also earned first-team all-state honors as a high school senior. Anna Boelman is a member of Central College's Theatre Central's production of Radium Girls. Performances will be Nov. 18-21 in Kruidenier Main Theatre at Central College.
