Gladys Elizabeth Gully Berry


Gladys Elizabeth "Betsy" Gully Berry, age 73, of Jackson, Miss., passed away at Allen Morgan Nursing Home in Memphis, Tenn. on April 19, 2012.

Born on June 27, 1938 in Lexington, Miss., she was raised in Senatobia where she attended and graduated from Senatobia High School. Betsy attended the University of Mississippi where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.

After graduating from Ole Miss with a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts, Betsy taught school in Greenville, Miss., for a number of years before obtaining her Master's Degree in Social Services from Mississippi State University.

Later, she became an administrator for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation of the State of Mississippi, where she later retired.

Betsy was a life-long athlete, with a passion for tennis and golf. She was also an avid reader and had a passion for Literary Arts.

Betsy is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Sidney R. Berry; stepsons, Ray Berry of Atlanta, Ga., Doug Berry and wife, Candy, of Cordova, Tenn., Robert Berry and wife, Bridgid, of Ridgeland, Miss.; three grandchildren, Sydney and Jay Berry of Cordova, Tenn., and Madeleine Berry of Ridgeland, Miss.; niece, Veazey G. Krausnick and husband, Collie, of Memphis, Tenn.; nephew, George Gully of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of friends.

Arrangements were made by Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. A graveside service was held on Monday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Cemetery on Hwy 51 in Senatobia.


Billy Joe Gee


Billy Joe Gee, 79, of Hernando, Miss., passed away April 13, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. Services were held Tuesday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gee of Hernando; two daughters, Pamela Morgan (Terry) of Senatobia and Phyllis Prince (Butch) of Newkirk, Okla.; sisters, Linda Price, Judy Moore, Kathleen Austin, Ermadean Clayton, Phyllis Clayton, Rhonda Wheeler, Nell Shelton and Wanda Plunk all of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; one brother, Frank Gee of Coldwater; and two grandchildren.


Betty McCollough


Betty "Mug" McCollough, 72, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away April 18, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto. Services were held Saturday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, Fla.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla McCain of Senatobia; sister, Rubie Lewis of Orlando, Fla.; and grandson, Scott McCain.


W. L. McElroy


W. L. "Snooks" McElroy, 87, of Independence, Miss., passed away April 17, 2012. Services were held Thursday, April 19 at 12 noon at the Hernando Church of Christ where he was a member. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mr. McElroy was a dairy farmer and a veteran of WWII having served in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lelia Mae McElroy.

He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Culver of Hernando, and Marcelyn Reid of Coldwater; grandchildren, Dallas Culver, Leigh Ann Johnson, and Jeremy Reid; and great grandchildren, Jake Johnson, Parker Reid, Harrison Reid, and Callen Culver.

Pallbearers for the service were Billy Watley, Randy Culver, Bubba Harris, Landon Farris, Tim Ball and Allen Underwood.

Honorary pallbearers were M.B. Tunstall, Steve Gooch, and Bobby Robbins.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Pate-Jones Funeral home in Senatobia had charge of the arrangements.


Clara Mae Weathers


Clara Mae Weathers, 80, born March 20, 1932 to Ella and Zeb Linton, died April 16, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto. She was a resident of Senatobia Convalescent Center.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Ada Coleman, Willie Linton, Joe Linton and Jackie Terrell.

Mrs. Weathers is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thurman Oscar Weathers; and her children, Linda Rupprecht (Wayne), Larry Weathers (Jeanie), Doug Weathers (Janet) and Mary Edmondson; sister Jean Porter; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 followed by services at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19 both at Hernando Funeral Home. Interment was in Twin Oaks Cemetery in Southaven.
