| Harry Glenn Alford
Harry Glenn Alford, 57, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and two children on October 19, 2009.
He worked as an electronic technician for the FAA for 36.5 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army and a honorary member of the Arkabutla Fire Department. He also was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia D. Alford of Arkabutla, Miss.; a daughter, Dr. Terri Alford of Winston Salem, N.C.; a son, Clinton Wade Alford of Olive Branch, Miss.; his mother, Kathryn Alford of Clinton, Miss.; two sisters, Elizabeth Milstead of Clinton, Miss. and Sandy Manuel of Jackson, Miss.; a brother, Charles Alford of Jackson, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Bailey Berry, Tristan Alford and Samantha Alford. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Clyde Alford; and two brothers, Terry L. Alford and W.C. "Bill" Alford, Jr.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21 at the Evansville Baptist Church where he was a member. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Scotland Baptist Church Cemetery in Yazoo County, Miss.
Memorials may be sent to Evansville Baptist Church or The Gideons International.
Mr. Alford will be missed by all that knew him for his love of people and especially for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
Boyce Warren "Bubba" Burnside
Boyce Warren "Bubba" Burnside, 62, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Senatobia where he attended, with Rev. Jeff Switzer officiating. Burial followed in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.
Burnside was born December 4, 1946 to the late Boyce Burnside and Eva Burnside Joiner of Cash, Arkansas. He was an agriculture chemical salesman. He attended the Mississippi State University and Delta State University. He was a retired member of the National Guard and a member of the Mississippi Agricultural Association where he served as president. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Mississippi Delta Seniors.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Marilynne Mason Burnside; one daughter, Paige Norwood (Jeff) of Hernando; two grandchildren, Avery Norwood and Mari Mason Norwood of Hernando; a brother, Bruce Burnside (Susan) of Cleveland; and sisters, Laurel Travis (Tee) and Barbara Moore (David) both of Rosedale and Kristie Foster (Burt) of Senatobia.
The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Magnolia Heights School.
Mary Etta Miller Cooper
Mrs. Mary Etta Miller Cooper, 87, of Pontotoc, Miss., passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Sunshine Nursing Home in Pontotoc, Miss. Services were held Friday, October 23 at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Ark. (Barton, Ark.) Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. had charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by five daughters, Bonnie Wilson and husband Frank of Imboden, Ark., Joyce Golden of Senatobia, Miss., JoAnn Ward of Senatobia, Miss., Pat Chambers and husband, Bobby, of Thaxton, Miss., and Becky Sowell and husband, Tim of Hernando, Miss.; one son, Harvey Cooper and wife, Elizabeth of Ripley, Miss.; one brother, V.C. Miller of Elaine, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Brodie Jack Feathers
Brodie Jack Feathers, 71, of Harmontown, Miss., died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at his home in Harmontown. He was one of five children and is also survived by his grandchildren. Memorial services were held on Saturday,October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at his home.
Bonnie Scott Ferguson
Bonnie Scott Ferguson, 84, passed away October 22, 2009 at her daughter's home in Coldwater, Miss. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23 at Scotland Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa F. Gates of Coldwater, Miss.; her son, Derek Frank Ferguson of Madison, Miss.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
James Albert Ferrell
James Albert Ferrell, 70, of Looxahoma, Miss., passed away October 16, 2009 at North Oak Regional Medical Center. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on October 20 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. Burial followed at Looxahoma Community Center.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ferrell of Looxahoma, Miss.; three daughters, Felecia Faulkner of Southaven, Miss., Crystal Ferrell of Looxahoma, Miss. and Rebecca McGowan of Senatobia, Miss.; his son, James Matthew Ferrell of Looxahoma, Miss.; six sisters, Jean Roberts of Memphis, Tenn., Ann White of Bartlett, Tenn., Francis Casey of Nesbit, Miss., Teddy Webb of Memphis, Tenn, Janie Bargery and Angie Bargery both of Hernando, Miss.; his brother, Wayne Ferrell of Cordova, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Carolyn Ferrell Hawkins
Carolyn Ferrell Hawkins, 79, of Horn Lake, Miss., died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her home. Before her retirement from retail in the 90's, she was the owner of Caliann's on Main St. in Senatobia, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wade Hawkins.
She leaves two daughters, Glenda Craig (Louis) and Carole Jo. She also leaves three sons, Mike Hawkins (Carol), Stan Hawkins (Jean), and Bill Hawkins (Cheryl); one sister, Lenora Covington of Franklin, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Following retirement, she enjoyed ballroom dancing, water aerobics and line dancing.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence, Miss.
Marcus Marquette Hullette
Marcus Marquette Hullette, 32, musician, of Coldwater, Miss., died October 16, 2009 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Services were held at 12 noon Saturday, October 24 at Brown Baptist Church, where he was a member and the church drummer, in Southaven, Miss. Burial was in Brown Baptist Church Cemetery in Southaven, Miss. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughters Breuanna M. Hullette and Brandi D. Mason, both of Southaven, Miss.; his father, George Hullette of Coldwater, Miss.; and his grandparents, Lucille Hullette of Senatobia, Miss. and Addie J. Daughtry of Memphis, Tenn.

Jimmy Dale Jones, 65, passed away October 19, 2009 at his residence in Senatobia. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home with burial following in Flag Lake Cemetery.
Jimmy leaves his long time companion, Brenda; his daughters, Tina Burke of Horn Lake, Miss. and Cynthia Jones of Senatobia; his sons, Ronnie Jones of Branson, Mo., Jimmy Wayne Jones of Jackson, Miss. and Michael Jones of Santan Valley, Ariz.; his brothers, William Jones of Grenada, Miss. and Raymond Jones of Atoka, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Kaliegh Breann Scruggs
Kaliegh Breann Scruggs, newborn daughter of Dusty Scruggs and Ashleigh Willhite of Coldwater, Miss., passed away October 21, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto. Graveside services were held Thursday, October 22 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence, Miss.
She is also survived by her grandparents, Jeannie and Jerry Roberts, Brad and Dee Scruggs, Melanie Willhite, Kurt and Melissa Willhite; great-grandparents, Becky and Bobby Crunk, Frances and Ronnie Scruggs, Ken and Jane Pegram, Noble and Peggy Willhite; and great-great-grandparents, Grace Lou Cunningham, Wanda Knowlton and Vera Scruggs.
Thelma Lee Wilkinson
Thelma Lee Wilkinson, 85, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away October 16, 2009 at the Sardis Nursing Home. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on October 19 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, Miss. Graveside services and burial were held at 2 p.m. October 21 at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, Ill.
Mrs. Wilkinson was the widow of William Edward Wilkinson. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia L. McKibben and Susan Dent, both of Coldwater, Miss.; a son William Joseph Wilkinson of Passaic, N.J.; two sisters, Joann Bridges of Mt. Carmel, Ill. and Margaret Jane Mitchell of North Carolina; three grandchildren, John Sanford Allred of Kingman, Kan., Christopher E. Dent of Claymont, Del. and April Nicole Wilkinson of Memphis, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren.
