Downtown construction begins
Oct 28 2009 12:00AM  By
The city of Enterprise began its Downtown Revitalization Project on Monday.

This grant-funded project will provide new sidewalks with brick pavers, improved lighting and hanging planter baskets. The project includes areas one block north and south of the Boll Weevil Monument on Main Street.

The project is projected to be completed in 90 working days or by March 11, 2010. Businesses will remain open during the course of construction, and residents are encouraged to continue to visit the establishments.

Mayor Kenneth Boswell says the project will have a positive impact on downtown Enterprise.

“A healthy downtown is vital for a community’s economic well-being. We hope to improve the use, value, and appeal of individual downtown properties which in turn will create more activity and interest in downtown,” Boswell said.

For more information regarding the Downtown Revitalization Project, call Brooke Denney at 348-2604 or email at bdenney@cityofenterprise.net.
