Controversy continues brewing over bingo
With less than 15 days before Country Crossing opens the doors to its bingo hall, controversy over the legality of electronic bingo continues to brew throughout the state.

The letters cite a ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court against White Hall Resort and Entertainment Center where the court overruled an injunction halting the Governor’s Task Force on Illegal Gambling from seizing the center’s electronic bingo machines.

‘Snakefoot’ featured in ‘Wild at HeART’ art show
The Ann Rudd Art Center, located in downtown Ozark, is featuring bronze sculptures by the late Robert G. Wehle of New York and Midway.
Wehle was an author, painter, sculptor, breeder of thoroughbred race horses, philanthropist, and more widely known as one of the most notable American kennels, Elhew Kennels, home of English Pointer bird dogs.
When Wehle was just 15 years old, his father gave him a female Pointer named “Jem of Fearn” and he formed his kennel, Elhew Kennels, at Scottsdale, N.Y. Wehle bred “Jem of Fearn” to “Frank of Sunnylawn” (winner of 61 field trial placements) which produced the first prefixed dog named “Elhew Midge.” Elhew Kennel’s high standards and long range breeding programs made the Elhew pointers one of the desirable pointers and is a well known name at field trial events across America.
